چکیده

The combustion characteristics of an opposed-piston two-stroke gasoline engine are investigated with experiment. energy conversion and exergy destruction analyzed the organization method process is summarized. effects phase difference, scavenging pressure, injection timing, ignition dual spark plug scheme on performance discussed, respectively. heat release rate consistent conventional engine. With increase motion efficiency decreases overmuch residual exhaust gas not beneficial to process. Meanwhile, faster relative velocity near inner dead center enhances cylinder working volume change rate, which leads rapid decline in-cylinder pressure temperature. 15 °CA difference improves effectively. When 0.12 MPa, improved at medium-high speed conditions. delay flame developing period gradually, burning then increases. may reach minimum value when advance angle 100 °CA. increases 20 Notably, flat-top piston structure should be matched plug, load

Effect of Injection Characteristics on Emissions and Combustion of a Gasoline Fuelled Partially-premixed Compression Ignition Engine

Conventional compression ignition (CI) engines are known for their high thermal efficiency compared to spark ignited (SI) engines. Gasoline because of its higher ignition delay has much lower soot emission in comparison with diesel fuel. Using double injection strategy reduces the maximum heat release rate that leads to NOx emission reduction. In this paper, a numerical study of a gasoline fuel...

Analysis of Piston of Two Stroke Engine

Due to the inherent nature of combustion in the Cylinder of a Conventional Internal combustion engine, stress variation as well as a certain temperature distribution sets up in the entire piston. Analysis of piston is required because of its shape and it is subjected to both structural and thermal loads. In the present study, piston of a two stroke spark ignition internal combustion engine havi...

Modification of piston bowl geometry and injection strategy, and investigation of EGR composition for a DME-burning direct injection engine

The amount of pollutant gases in the atmosphere has reached a critical state due to an increase in industrial development and the rapid growth of automobile industries that use fossil fuels. The combustion of fossil fuels produces harmful gases such as carbon dioxide, nitrogen monoxide (NO), soot, particulate matter (PM), etc. The use of Dimethyl Ether (DME) biofuel in diesel engines or other c...

Effects of second injection timing on combustion characteristics of a two stage direct injection gasoline–alcohol HCCI engine

In this study, the effect of second injection timing on the combustion and emissions characteristics of a direct injection HCCI gasoline engine was investigated by using ethanol and methanol blended gasoline fuel. For this aim, a diesel engine was converted to an electronically controlled HCCI gasoline engine. The injection timings and fuel quantity for each injection were adjusted to get desir...

Combustion Control in Gasoline Hcci Engine with Direct Fuel Injection and Exhaust Gas Trapping

Homogeneous charge compression ignition (HCCI) seems to be the most promising solution for gasoline engines in the light of future emissions regulations. This novel combustion technique allows for significant reduction of fuel consumption and engine-out NOX emissions at low and medium engine load/speed conditions. High heat release rate enables realization of the Otto cycle close to ideal, incr...
